Employment and Wages by Industry Query
creates comparison statistics by geographic area. Included are annual summary
information on the establishments, employees and wages.
Publications for the year 2000 to present are based on the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). Trend tables begin with the year 1990; annual data with the year 2000; quarterly data with the year 2001; and size-of-firm data with the year 2004. Most of the publications are available as both Excel files and pdf.
~ Notes ~
NAICS-Based Tables versus
SIC-Based Tables
~ North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) employment tables present average quarterly employment data, whereas former Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) tables present employment levels for the third month of the quarter.
~ Trend Tables: Because data in this series are not broken out by industry, they should be comparable, whether collected under the North American Industry Classification System or the Standard Industrial Classification system.
Publications based on Standard Industrial Classification are available for 2001 and before and are in a different format. Visit Archived Employment & Wages Publications.
