LMI Pro Suite Product Descriptions

The LMI Pro Suite is a product of the Bureau of Labor Market Information (LMI) of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) and contains information not readily available through other sources. The LMI Pro Suite allows the user to take the information from each of the applications and utilize it in strategic marketing, career planning, recruitment planning, site/location decisions, labor cost analysis, and solving many other economic and workforce issues.

LMI Pro Suite products, except for the Ohio Career Information System (OCIS), are available without charge. There is a small subscription fee for the OCIS software to cover the cost of external software providers. The OCIS software is available only to non-profit organizations and government agencies involved in workforce development. See the order form for details. Ohio Career Information System (OCIS)

A personal computer and Internet-based program with national, state and local data on occupations, training programs, educational institutions and financial aid sources. It provides assessment links to relevant occupations and an occupational sort feature for finding occupations based on interest and aptitudes. OCIS has many additional features including how military careers relate to civilian employment and examples of resume and cover letter. The information on occupations represents approximately 95% of employment in Ohio. Also, career videos are available for viewing workplace environments for most occupations. Employment and Wages by Industry Query

Locate the number of establishments, number of employees, total wages paid and average annual wage by industry for privately owned businesses and is taken from Quarterly Census of Employment & Wages data.

Analyst Resource Center Employer Database on CD

Provides information on more than 11 million American businesses. Powerful search routines allow the user to locate companies by address; yellow page heading or industry code; geography by city, ZIP code, county, area code, state or metropolitan area; or by number of employees or sales volume. Information provided includes contact names with telephone & fax numbers, web site address when available and credit rating summaries. It allows the user to map business locations, as well as the ability to print or download information to a file.

For military career information, visit Today's Military. This site describes enlisted and officer occupations. It contains information about the type of work performed, as well as employment, training and career advancement opportunities for Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard occupations. Because many military occupations are comparable to one or more civilian occupations, civilian counterparts are listed for all applicable military occupations.
