Small group exercise of case study development using aforementioned resources

economic diagnosis to guide labor market interventions.

Presentation of the electronic community services directory as a tool to help
maintain families and manage seasonal unemployment.

Presentation of the Internet versions of the Occupational
Outlook Handbook (OOH), the Career Guide to
Industries and the Leading Economic Indicators as tools to identify occupations
and industries sensitive to economic downturns and develop responses to cyclical
unemployment.

Presentation of Ohio's LMI web as means to use labor market information and
reduce job search time (i.e., reduce frictional unemployment).

Presentation of the OCIS and Ohio's LMI web, including the College Navigator
web site and the Career Centers web page, as tools to identify eligible training
providers under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and improve the economic
returns to training investments by reducing structural unemployment.

Sources of information about labor availability and costs, including Ohio's
LMI web for occupational wage data (i.e., labor costs) and labor supply information.
