Maps of Ohio
Several geographic systems are used to describe Ohio, depending on use, program, and funding. The Ohio Bureau of Labor Market Information also publishes data for metropolitan areas, nonmetropolitan areas, selected cities, workforce areas, and JobsOhio Network Regions.
- Metropolitan Statistical Areas ( MSAs), based on the 2010 Census, are integrated geographic regions comprised of at least one city and adjacent communities.
- See Changes in Metropolitan Statistical Area Definitions, in pdf, for a description of the changes in 2010 versus 2000 MSA definitions.
- Nonmetropolitan Areas include four mostly-contiguous regions containing all counties not otherwise included in the state's MSAs.
- The OEWS All Areas map shows all of the regions for which the Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) program produces occupational wage and employment estimates.
- Metropolitan and Micropolitan Statistical Areas, as established in 2013 by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Bulletin No. 13-01.
- Workforce Areas & OhioMeansJobs Centers are used for delivery of local services. Ohio's One-Stop System delivers a variety of employment and training services for individuals and employers. The page includes links to the maps based on current and historical definitions.
- The JobsOhio Network is comprised of six regions, developed by JobsOhio.
